Job Description

We are looking for a highly capable Project Accountant to provide our Project Management team with accounting support. As a Project Accountant, you will report to the Revenue Manager and be responsible for all aspects of project accounting, including: processing cost invoices, change order management, investigating budget variances, and submission of and tracking of customer billings.

Project Accountant Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Revenue Manager or other Project Managers as required
  • Preparing pre-billing reports for Project Managers to review.
  • Preparing actual reports
  • Monitoring receivable income and supporting Project Managers with invoice collections.
  • Issuing invoices and purchase orders, as well as processing consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills.
  • Ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner. As well as responding to requests for more detail from customers
  • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
  • Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments.
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  • Report on project profitability to Project Management
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion
  • Create and submit government reports and tax returns related to projects
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
