Bond and HMFH Complete the New 252,000 SF Maria Weston Chapman Middle School in Weymouth
The new 252,000-square-foot Maria Weston Chapman Middle School in Weymouth, designed by HMFH Architects and built by BOND Building Construction, was officially completed and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 6. The $163 million state-of-the-art facility, funded in part by the Massachusetts School Building Authority, will serve over 1,400 students in grades 6-8 when the school year begins on September 6. Featuring three academic wings, lab and maker spaces, and an 840-seat performance theater, the school centers around a “Town Square” that doubles as a dining and gathering area. Delivered on time and on budget, the project represents Weymouth’s largest-ever capital investment and promises to foster innovation and community engagement for generations to come.
