Boston Arts Academy’s New $117 Million Building Completed
The new $117 million Boston Arts Academy building at 174 Ipswich Street in Boston has been completed, offering a transformative space for the city’s only public school dedicated to visual and performing arts. Designed to accommodate 15% more students, the 154,000-square-foot facility includes art-dedicated floors, flexible classrooms, a STEAM lab, a 500-seat theater, high-tech studios, and a rooftop recital hall, all equipped with industry-standard technology. Public areas, such as the lobby, double as art galleries, fostering a community environment where students can innovate, collaborate, and showcase their work. The building was developed by Lee Kennedy Co., with architects Perkins Eastman and Wilson Butler, and reflects Boston’s commitment to modern, world-class learning environments for its youth.
