Johnston School Building Committee Awards $40m+ In Construction Contracts For New Elementary
The Johnston School Building Committee has awarded over $40 million in contracts for the construction of a new elementary school, part of a $215 million voter-approved bond. Marguerite Concrete, Inc. was awarded the cast-in-place concrete contract for $3.43 million, coming in under budget.
Site preparation is underway, with foundation work expected to begin soon. Although groundbreaking has technically started, an official ceremony is yet to be scheduled. The project is progressing well within its budget, with plans for a new high school to follow in 2025. Officials emphasize the transformative impact of these investments, totaling a quarter of a billion dollars, on Johnston’s education system.
