Senior Housing Project Breaks Ground

The East Boston Community Development Corporation (CDC) has broken ground on the Grace Apartments project at 187 Sumner St., a 39,067 square-foot, seven-story building providing 42 income-restricted units for low-income seniors. Designed to address Boston’s growing need for affordable housing, the development supports city and state goals to prevent displacement and enhance housing opportunities for vulnerable residents. Featuring a community room, offices, and accessible facilities, the project highlights the CDC’s long-term commitment to senior and workforce housing in East Boston, where demand remains high.
