New Middleborough High School Opening
The new Middleborough High School, a $103 million project completed under budget despite pandemic-related delays, is set to open on April 27. The state-of-the-art facility features a three-story rotunda, a 740-seat auditorium, collaboration labs, a TV studio, a two-story band practice room, and murals celebrating the town’s history. While the building is safe for occupation, minor finishing touches and the greenhouse remain incomplete. The transition from the old high school, established in 1971, marks the end of an era as it undergoes demolition to make way for a parking lot. The opening week will focus on tours, celebrations, and acclimation to the new space, with pandemic precautions still in place.
